NASCAR’s First and Longest Running Weekly Track – and Still the Most Exciting of Them All!
Located conveniently in downtown Winston-Salem, NC, Bowman Gray Stadium is the definition of excellence in short track racing. Each and every Saturday night in spring and summer, thousands and thousands of fans pack the stands to see the most exciting racing action found anywhere.
It’s your turn to vote on your Winston-Salem favorites in the 9th Annual Smitty’s Notes “Best of Winston-Salem” contest. Our neighbors to the east have their favorites – now it’s time to show off ours this year.
Smitty’s Notes has decided to take a stab again at naming some of the “bests” in our fair city. As a Winston-Salem centric e-newsletter with over 15,000 subscribers, we’re asking YOU to tell us your favorite place to eat, play, and hang out. And maybe the results will lead you to check out some new things you haven’t tried based on recommendations from fellow Smittyheads. I know from last year results, it made me do a little exploring.
So, here’s the deal.
– Take time. Fill out the survey (Trust me. This could have been longer). Comments supporting your choices are encouraged.
– You may go back and work or change your choices anytime BEFORE you submit your answers.
– New categories have been added and some removed reflecting our changing community interest.
– The contest will run until midnight June 30, 2015. Results will be announced after July 6, 2015 in the Smitty’s Notes e-newsletter and on SmittysNotes.com which will also feature a special section on all the good things you recommended.
Submissions may be anonymous; however, if you wish to share your contact information, Smitty’s Notes will randomly select one person to receive a $50 Visa gift card
I’ve learned you folks need a little incentive!
I need your help to get a good sampling. Forward this e-mail to all your friends, colleagues and crew. Bombard your address book. However, sitting at a computer repeatedly submitting to category (ballot stuffing) is strongly NOT encouraged.
I look forward to reading and sharing your choices. Each year’s results are entertaining. The comments always give me a good chuckle 😉 Thanks for your interest and support!

Alter White was your average high school teacher…until desperation drove him over the edge and made him “Bad.” In this concert, we explore composers who followed a similar path, highlighting pieces that strayed from the mainstream and stirred up public controversy and outrage.

Let’s get one thing out of the way before you devour the Yes! Weekly 2015 Best Of the Triad issue: We wouldn’t be able to honor the stellar people, growing businesses, exceptional services and elegant bathrooms without your help. The Triad is exploding with creativity and innovation, and honoring these leaders would not be possible without the support from all of you, the readers of Yes! Weekly.
Tallying up the votes, connecting with business owners, engaging with readers… this is all part of what makes us jubilant when compiling the data that allows us to build this issue. We can’t thank you enough for participating, and we certainly can’t thank you enough for investing your time, money, and energy into the most exciting locations in North Carolina.
Hopefully you’re sitting with a cocktail made by the Triad’s best bartender, or eating a meal prepared at one of the area’s best restaurants, or twirling your hair that was recently styled at the best salon, but either way, we are appreciative that you’re spending your time learning about all the things that make Triad the best place to live. Cheers to the winners and the runners-up, and a special toast to the businesses who did not make the list, but who also keep the vibrant energy palpable.

About
We seek to achieve our vision by serving, supporting and strengthening military warriors, families, leaders, chaplains and caregivers, and wounded warriors through offering training, services and resources which promote resiliency and relational health throughout the deployment cycle. These services include retreats, counseling professionals and print and media resources.
Heal Our Heroes Creed: We served our country together, therefore we can help heal each other.
Heal Our Heroes Mission: In an outdoor setting, we facilitate healing for our military through hunting, clay target shooting, hiking, fishing, small lake boating, campfires and group discussions. In this environment we seek our Creator, and look to chaplains and mentors to provide emotional and mental healing, renewal, rebuilding of relationships and renewed purpose to those we serve.
Heal Our Heroes seeks to build long lasting relationships with those we serve. Our veteran, mentor support groups see the individual and not the disability; seeking opportunities to open dialogue, share experiences and offer hope.
Heal Our Heroes will provide other printed resources “Combat Trauma Healing Manual” as well as network with other service providers to assist in more complex issues of Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI).
Heal Our Heroes when possible will provide these opportunities free of charge through available scholarships.
Heal Our Heroes will sponsor a few campaigns to get the local communities involved and to raise money for scholarships. We are sponsoring the 1st Annual High Point Military Appreciation Day September 13th at Festival Park.
Heal Our Heroes is organized exclusively for charitable purposes.
