Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the service this year will be webcast only – you are asked to participate remotely through the streaming webcast rather than in person!

248 YEARS – ONE OF THE OLDEST EASTER SUNRISE SERVICES IN AMERICA!

Salem Congregation’s 248th Moravian Easter Sunrise Service will be live-streamed only because of concerns surrounding to ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The service will be broadcast online, on television on WXII 12 News at 6 a.m. Sunday and on WSJS radio.

The service will be live-streamed in its entirety from the Home Church sanctuary, but no one will be able to attend in person.

“They’ll be hearing the same thing that they have heard every year we’ve done this,” Snider said. “It’s going to be the same liturgy. The same music. We will have a band playing, but it, obviously, will be a much smaller band. It’s typically close to 300 people playing and (this year) there will be That’s much different.”

The Great Sabbath Service will not be held on April 11. There will be a rebroadcast of the 2019 service at 7 p.m. April 11 online.
