We’re cooking for the Kids of Childhood Cancer for the 6th Annual KOCC Chili Cook-Off. Entry fee is $20 in advance and $25 the day of the contest. Cook up two gallons of your best chili and come on out.
Set up begins at 9:30 and Judging starts at 11 and goes until 2. You can be a Judge for $10 and you get to taste all the chili. With that you will also get 3 votes to use for the People’s Choice Award. Prizes will be awarded for People’s Choice,, Most Money Raised and cash prizes for the top 3 as judged by our celebrity Judges.
There will also be a bake sale. All proceeds from the day will go to the Kids Of Childhood Cancer. You must supply your own powerstrips, extension cords, propane, etc. To pre-register go to www.chili4ourkids.org or you can call 336-722-3106 for information.

It’s an opportunity to get on your bike for a Winter Blast to the Petty’s Garage and Petty Museum in Randleman to meet Richard Petty, Kyle Petty and Dale Inman. All proceeds to benefit the Petty Family Foundation.
Please join us in Lisa’s Memorial Ride. Lisa was diagnosed with Bile Duct Cancer in December 2014 an the cancer continued to spread to her liver.
This event will be to benefit her outstanding medical expenses and the financial hardship the cancer caused her and her family.
We are saddened that Lisa left use on July 13, 2016. All proceeds raised will go directly to Lisa’s Family.

CAR SHOW TO BENEFIT RIVERWOOD THERAPEUTIC RIDING CENTER
Car Show today from 9 – 3 sponsored by Smokin’ Harley-Davidson and Classic Muscle Restoration at Modern Automotive. All cars are welcome. Whether you own a Muscle Car, Street Rod, Antique, have an Automobile Club or Rat Rod, everyone is invited. There is a $20 per car fee with monies going to the charity. There will be Vendors, Live Music, Free Hot Dogs from Noon to 2, 50/50 draw and the Classic Muscle Performance Truck will be on display. You can purchase tickets and vote for who should win the trophy for the People’s Choice and there will be a trophy for the Dealer’s Choice. All proceeds from the day to benefit the Riverwood Therapeutic Riding Center. Come early, stay late.
Benefit ride for the Children’s Organ Transplant Association, (COTA). Rain or shine. Registration is from 9:30 – 10:30. Kickstands up at 10:30. $25 for single rider and $30 with passenger. Lunch included with rider sign up. Also a cruise-In at 9. No entry fee, however, donations will be accepted. Lunch available for $5 a person. After the ride there will be live music by Josh Black, a Raffle, 50/50 draw with all proceeds from the ride to benefit COTA in honor of Zane Snider.
A “Benefit Ride”, will be held for COTA in honor of Zane Snider, a local child who is waiting for a heart transplant. The event is planned for Saturday Aug. 1, beginning at Smokin Harley-Davidson, 3441 Myer Lee Drive in Winston-Salem. Nineteen-year-old Snider is listed for a heart transplant at Duke University Children’s Hospital in Durham, and has recently undergone a procedure to place a mechanical heart in him (the first of it’s kind for someone born with Snider’s condition) as he waits for the life-saving donation. Funds are being raised to assist with transplant-related expenses.
Snider was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and is currently waiting for a life-saving heart transplant. The Snider family needs an estimated $100,000 to pay transplant-related expenses.
Snider is affectionately called “Superman” by his family and friends due to his unquenchable spirit.
“The family and friends of Zane want to encourage everyone to attend our Every Hero Needs a Heart Motorcycle Benefit Ride for COTA and help give Zane a second chance at life,” said Rhonda Mitchell, Event Chair. “100 percent of the profits from the ride will assist with transplant-related expenses.”

Snider’s family has asked for assistance from the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA), a national charity based in Bloomington, Indiana. COTA is dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are completely free of charge, and 100 percent of funds generated by COTA community fundraising campaigns are available for transplant-related expenses.

Emily’s Plea was founded in 2009 by Chuck and Becky Kennedy the parents of Emily May.
Emily was killed by the senseless act of a drunk driver in May 2007 at the young age of 24. Our Purpose……simply stated “SAVING A LIFE”.Becky and Chuck attempt to stress this one simple fact.
We lose hundreds of innocent people each year due to the careless acts of individuals that simply choose to drink and drive.
