The Triad Holiday Food Drive, sponsored by FOX8 and Old Dominion Freight Line, provides The Salvation Army with food to help feed local families in need. Nearly 9 million cans of food have been collected since 1987. This is the largest and most important food collection event of the year for The Salvation Army. Last year, over 22,000 people were served.
For many years, FOX8 and Old Dominion have celebrated the Triad Holiday Food Drive by hosting concerts at the Greensboro Coliseum, Lawrence Joel Veteran Memorial Coliseum, and in Burlington at Williams High School. The Holiday concerts have become a tradition for many Piedmont Triad families, offering quality holiday entertainment. The Triad Holiday Concerts are open to the public and an array of seasonal music is provided by the Greensboro and Winston Salem Symphonies. The only “cost” to attend is a canned food donation.
Help us continue conquering this problem by registering your company to participate in the FOX8 and Old Dominion Triad Holiday Food Drive!
What is an Angel Tree? It is a holiday assistance program in which an individual sponsor or group sponsor/organization/corporation purchases new toys for a deserving child (or “Angel”) or a food gift card for seniors in need. For many, the gifts they receive through the Angel Tree Program will be the only ones they open on Christmas morning.
Last year alone we registered 1,000+ families, over 3,443 children, and 285 seniors who would not experience the magic of Christmas without the generosity of people in our community.
It will take an entire army this Christmas to deliver the nearly 19,000 toys to the neediest children and provide for our seniors.
If you believe, every child and every senior deserves to experience the joy of Christmas please support us this Christmas!
Our partners who will be hosting public angel trees will be at the following locations from November 13th – December 8th:
News & Record at 200 E Market
Whole Foods at Friendly
Our Christmas Stockings can be registered for here OR picked up and returned at any Chick Fila. Christmas Stockings can also be picked up / returned at The Salvation Center of Hope at 1311 S Eugene Street, Monday-Friday, from 9:30am to 4:30pm.
We ask all gifts, stockings, and gift cards be returned unwrapped by December 1st.

FOX8’s Neill McNeill and Katie Nordeen will once again host this year’s concerts in Greensboro and Winston-Salem. New this year, the Greensboro and Winston-Salem concerts will feature revamped formats to include more music, more performers, and an intermission break. The new format promises to make the experience even more fun for attendees of all ages, while maintaining the traditions of more than 25 years of Triad Holiday Concerts.
As always, admission and parking are free for all three concerts with your donation of canned food items to benefit The Salvation Army. Last year’s FOX8/Old Dominion Triad Holiday Concerts raised more than 500,000 cans of food. The FOX8/Old Dominion Triad Holiday Concerts serve as the single largest provider of food for the hungry in the Triad, and help stock the shelves of The Salvation Army for more than half the year.
We will be doing a Toys for Tots ride starting at the Forgotten Sons clubhouse. We will have several stops and then Baggerz for the after party. We will have two bands and will provide food. Please bring a unwrapped toys for a boy or girl to help some deserving kids.
17th Annual Brenner Children’s Hospital Toy Run. A fully escorted ride from Greensboro Harley-Davidson to Brenner Children’s Hospital at Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem in an effort to collect toys and raise additional funds for the Children’s Hospital. Not only does it help benefit the children during Christmas time, but all throughout the year.
This Toy Run continuously furnishes the play rooms, allows children to take toys to play with in their rooms, and to take toys home with them. “It’s not just Christmas, it’s all year long.” says Beth Smith, Child Life Specialist at Brenner Children’s Hospital. She explains that it’s not Christmas until the motorcycles arrive at the Hospital!
