Just opened in the Arts District is a pizza parlor familiar to many around town. Mission Pizza opened recently, but many people know it from its early incarnation, the popular food truck calledForno Moto.
We are located at Trade and 7th. No sign on the street yet, but look for the covered patio and you will find us. Right next to Lucky Strike Boutique. No reservations, no call ahead.
The owner is Peyton Smith, who opened the eatery last week at the former Rescue Mission at 707 North Trade Street. What makes Smith’s style unique is the wood-fired brick oven he uses in his food truck and now restaurant.
His pizza style is different too. It’s Napoletana, which features Italians’ favorites: fresh ingredients and seasonings. Another thing that is unique about Mission Pizza is its seed money.
Smith used the popular Kickstarter funding mechanism to help get the restaurant started. The restaurant will be open Monday-Saturday from 5-10 p.m. For more information call 336-893-8217 or visit http://www.fornomoto.com.
